Carrara Markets are the largest permanent weekend markets in Australia.
It’s a treasure mine of the strange and unusual, open every Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with over 300 market stalls across 10 acres. It’s also the birthplace of bargain shopping for fresh fruit, clothing, housewares, pots, plants, bric-a-brac, arts and crafts, and just about anything else.
Pony rides, a baby animal farm, face painting, and a bungy trampoline are just a few of the kid-friendly activities available. An fantastic themed putt putt mini golf attraction with an indoor and outdoor course perfect for children and elderly can be found at the markets. The lovely Butterfly House is also new to the markets. Hundreds of Australian butterflies fly around a glasshouse garden, creating a fluttery sensation.
Carrara Markets has been a popular tourist attraction on the Gold Coast for over 30 years. Carrara Markets are easily accessible. At Pacific Fair, take the G:Link Light Rail to Broadbeach South Station, then a Translink or Surfside Bus directly to the markets.
Carrara Markets are open to the public and are free to enter. There is no charge for parking.
